Paper Postcards That Can Be Docked In A Postcard Player To Play Music

UK-based brand communications agency Uniform has created a device that plays music printed on postcards.

Using Printed Electronics, an emerging technology that involves printing basic electronic circuits and components onto any surface, this project explores Paper Apps—paper devices with conductive inks that enable users to interact with data, information and services.

These Digital Postcards are unique, low cost pieces of music that can be docked in a Postcard player, where users can control the playback by pressing buttons printed on the postcards.

It makes for an engaging experience of controlling music by touching the paper postcards, much like interacting with a record sleeve of a series of Vinyls rather than a phone screen.

The Postcard Player is currently on show as part of the Design Museum’s Designs of the Year show.
